Waiting is never easy.

Whether we’re waiting for clarity about our future, for a door to open, a relationship to heal, or a seed we’ve planted to finally take root—waiting can feel like standing in thick, still air. We know movement is happening beneath the surface, but we can’t see it yet. And that is uncomfortable.

We would rather act, solve, fix, push, or hurry. Silence can feel like absence. Delay can feel like denial. And the unknown can feel like a threat.

But Scripture tells a different story about waiting

Waiting is Not Wasted

In Isaiah 40:31, we read: “But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Waiting on God does not deplete us—it strengthens us. Not because the waiting is easy, but because waiting teaches us dependence.

Waiting is where faith grows legs. It’s where trust stops being a concept and becomes a practice. God is not hurried. He is not anxious.

He is never behind schedule.

And He is not indifferent to the ache we feel while we wait.
